**A good robotics report shows what you built, how you tested it and what went wrong.** Copy the outline below into your document and fill each section with your own work. Check your college format first; its rules override this page.

## Chapter outline

1. **Title page and certificate:** follow your department format.
2. **Abstract (150 to 250 words):** the problem, what you built, how you tested it and the main result in one sentence each.
3. **1. Introduction:** the problem, why it matters, the objective in one measurable sentence, and the scope (what you did not try).
4. **2. Literature review:** three to five existing systems or papers, what each does and the gap your project covers.
5. **3. System design:** block diagram, list of parts with the reason for each choice, power budget, pin map and wiring diagram.
6. **4. Hardware build:** mechanical assembly, photos of your own build, and the problems you hit.
7. **5. Software:** flow chart, key code listings (full code in an appendix), libraries used and their versions.
8. **6. Testing and results:** the test plan, the measured results in tables, and the failures. Report real numbers from your own bench.
9. **7. Cost:** bill of materials with the price you actually paid and the shop.
10. **8. Conclusion and future work:** what met the objective, what did not, and what you would change.
11. **References:** datasheets, documentation and papers you used, in your college style.
12. **Appendices:** full code, schematics, datasheet extracts.

## What examiners usually look for

- A clear objective that you can check against the results.
- Your own measurements: distance error, response time, battery run time. A table beats a paragraph.
- Honest failure notes. Saying what failed and why shows understanding.
- Consistent diagrams and units, and every figure referred to in the text.

## A simple test table to copy

| Test | Setup | Expected | Measured | Pass or fail |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Obstacle stop | Wall at 20 cm, robot at speed setting 150 | Stops before contact | (your result) | (your result) |
| Battery run time | Fresh battery, drive on flat floor | (your target) | (your result) | (your result) |
| Repeatability | Run the same path 10 times | (your target) | (your result) | (your result) |
