For an ESP32 or IoT project, examiners ask how data moves, how reliable it is and how it is secured. Answer from your own design.
Hardware
- Why the ESP32? Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, enough pins and memory, low cost. State the limits too, such as 3.3 V logic.
- Which pins did you use and why? Avoid strapping and flash pins. See the wiring checker and ESP32 pinout.
- How is it powered? Supply, current peaks and brownout. See ESP32 brownout.
Networking
- Which protocol did you use and why? HTTP, MQTT or WebSocket. See MQTT on the ESP32.
- What happens when Wi-Fi drops? Describe reconnect handling. See Wi-Fi keeps disconnecting.
- How is your data secured? Say what you used: passwords, TLS, access control. State the limits honestly.
Reliability and testing
- How did you test it? Range, long runs and power cuts, with a log.
- What was the worst failure? Have one real example and the fix.
- How would you scale it to many devices? Naming, updates and monitoring.
